To systematize essential knowledge using a game format.
To promote active participation, enhance individual students' autonomy and responsibility during group learning.
To harness the collective intelligence of the group as students carry out the tasks.
Execution Method:
The teacher prints 4–6 images and then cuts them into puzzle pieces.
Divide the class into 4–6 groups (4–5 students per group).
Each group receives the puzzle pieces which contain questions and answers. Group members read the textbook (page...) to research the information.
Then, they use their collective intelligence to assemble the pieces into a shape (an apple/a shirt/etc.)
So that two adjacent images will create a complete sentence (You can also adapt this for Math).
Time limit: 20–30 minutes. The first team to finish correctly before the time limit is awarded 1 bonus point.
When the time is up, groups check each other's results according to the following rotation: Group 1-Group 2-Group 3-Group 4-Group 5 -Group 6-Group 1.
Each correctly matched pair of edges earns 1 point.
